FINANCE OFFICER
The Lac La Ronge Indian Band's Social Development Department is seeking a highly skilled Finance Officer to join their team in La Ronge, SK. This permanent full-time position is responsible for organizing and maintaining the Financial and Accounting System of the Social Development Department.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Providing financial information from the computerized accounting system.
- Preparing monthly variance financial statements and general ledger data.
- Processing transactions in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and bank reconciliations.
- Administering and monitoring the financial activities for the income assistance program.
- Preparing for the annual year-end audit.
- Maintaining the computerized accounting system.
- Maintaining financial files and records.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A 2-year Diploma in Business Administration/Accounting/Finance.
- Minimum 3-years' experience in full cycle accounting and budgeting.
- Advanced proficiency with accounting software and applications.
- Computer literate, including effective working knowledge and skills of MS Word, Excel, and email.
- Demonstrated knowledge of accepted accounting rules, practices, laws, and reporting requirements.
- Ability to interpret and implement company policies and procedures.
- Able to maintain confidentiality.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
- A valid Class 5 Driver's License.
- Able to provide a recent and satisfactory Criminal Record Check and SGI's Driver Abstract.
- Able to be bondable.
