JOB SUMMARY

The Director, Strategic Sourcing and Logistics is a key member of the senior management leadership team, responsible for overseeing the strategic direction and operational execution of supply chain management, fleet operations, and facilities management for the organization and its subsidiaries. This role requires a collaborative approach to foster strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external vendors, ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of goods and services, maintenance of facilities, and management of the vehicle fleet.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Supply Chain Management

  • Direct the development and implementation of the organization's supply chain strategy, ensuring alignment with the overall corporate strategy and objectives.
  • Oversee the procurement function for acquiring materials and services.
  • Oversee the material management function, including all aspects of managing the corporate warehouse and corporate inventory
  • Direct source development, price and contract negotiations, pipeline provisioning, ordering, and expediting to ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services.
  • Develop and administer purchasing policies and procedures, contract templates, and process tools.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement supply chain processes, including key performance indicators to measure effectiveness.

Fleet Management

  • Direct all aspects of the corporate fleet of vehicles and equipment, including managing operational and capital budgets, acquisition, and disposal of assets.
  • Develop and lead the strategy to electrify the fleet in accordance with the overall corporate strategy and objectives.
  • Ensure the fleet maintenance programs comply with all relevant legislation and regulations, such as Commercial Vehicle Operators Registration (CVOR) regulations.
  • Direct the fleet garage and its operations, ensuring the safe and efficient maintenance of vehicles and equipment.

Facilities and Property Management

  • Ensure the proper maintenance of buildings and property, including physical security.
  • Direct a variety of contractors providing services such as HVAC, electrical, engineering, and janitorial.
  • Develop strategic plans and execute on real estate interests and holdings, including unregulated LandCo ventures.
  • In collaboration with internal stakeholders, oversee select and applicable environmental, conservation and decarbonization plans and programs, including the use of asset management applications to ensure life-cycle maintenance.

Storm Business Continuity Response

  • Direct the response as it relates to supply chain, fleet, and facilities in major weather or other events in accordance with the organization's business continuity plans and programs.
  • Develop and implement contingency plans to ensure the continuity of critical supply chain, fleet, and facility operations during and after an event.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external partners to assess damage, mobilize resources, and restore operations as quickly as possible.
  • Establish or utilize existing communication channels to keep stakeholders informed of storm response efforts.

Leadership and Team Management

  • Lead and mentor a team of supply chain, fleet, and facilities professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.
  • Establish and maintain policies, procedures, and objectives for each functional area.
  • Prepare, monitor, and manage operational and capital budgets for supply chain, fleet, and facilities.
  • Meet or exceed cost and performance targets and objectives.
  • Interface effectively with all levels of personnel, both internally and externally, who utilize or contribute to the services provided.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • University (Bachelor's) degree in supply chain management, or a related field
  • Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in Supply Chain functions (Procurement, Contract Management, and Materials Management), including at least 3 years in a management capacity in an operations or manufacturing-based environment.
  • Experience liaising with internal / external senior and executive management with an excellent understanding of overall business cycles, requirements, and priorities.
  • Ability for strategic decision making that can materially affect the financial performance of the organization.
  • Experience with contract writing and negotiation.
  • Experience with storm or event response.
  • Strong leadership skills including the ability to strategically lead the functions as well as provide direction, development, and growth opportunities for a team of professionals.
  • Ability to deal with non-routine situations in the absence of complete information.
  • Strong computer skills; proficient in the use of office productivity and collaboration tools, preferably Google Workspace.
  • Knowledge of the utility industry considered an asset.
  • English essential, both oral and written; bilingual English/French considered an asset.

This is a management group opportunity and salary will be commensurate with qualifications.
