We are seeking an Occupational Therapist to work in Inverness and Cheticamp, NS, providing occupational therapy services to residents in long-term care facilities.

We offer a competitive hourly wage range of $35.75/hr - $38.75/hr based on experience, comprehensive health and dental benefits, vacation accrual, pension plan, and a $1,000 retention bonus for a 2-year commitment.

The successful candidate will provide leadership and delegate tasks to OT/PT staff, administer and interpret tests and evaluations, develop individualized treatment plans, and evaluate resident progress.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy, be registered with the College of Occupational Therapists of Nova Scotia, have a valid CPR & First Aid Certification, and experience working with the elderly in a seniors' living or long-term care environment.

The County of Inverness Municipal Housing Corporation is a Not-for-Profit Corporation under the authority of the Municipality of the County of Inverness, providing long-term care services to residents in Inverness and Cheticamp, NS.

**Job Responsibilities:**

  • Provide leadership and delegate tasks to OT/PT staff
  • Administer and interpret tests and evaluations
  • Develop individualized treatment plans
  • Evaluate resident progress
  • Prepare progress reports and statistical reports
  • Participate as a member of the interdisciplinary team
  • Design and produce adaptive equipment and utensils
  • Provide staff training on ergonomics and related topics

**About You:**

  • Have a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy
  • Be registered with the College of Occupational Therapists of Nova Scotia
  • Have a valid CPR & First Aid Certification
  • Have experience working with the elderly in a seniors' living or long-term care environment
