Senior Process Safety Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Process Safety Engineer to join our team at Cenovus Energy Inc. This role will provide specialist interpretation, analysis, and guidance in process safety and technical safety engineering.
Key Responsibilities- Provide expert guidance on process safety, focusing on preventing loss of containment during all operational phases.
- Consult with collaborators to integrate perspectives, optimizing hazard identification and risk control solutions.
- Improve process safety awareness by sharing simple, actionable practices.
- Leverage operations knowledge to identify weak signals through data from management of change processes, control of work procedures, process upsets, and incidents.
- Offer technical expertise in barrier management to prevent unplanned and uncontrolled releases.
- Guide and lead change efforts to implement COIMS process safety standards, including regulatory requirements and external provider guidelines.
- Participate in or lead investigations of significant process safety events, offering recommendations and communicating insights through technical reports and presentations.
- Legally eligible to work in Canada.
- Completion of a Bachelor of Science in Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) registered for practice in Alberta is required.
- 8+ years of operational experience with demonstrated process safety, hazard identification and risk assessment skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Confirmed ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
