We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Process Safety Engineer to join our team at Cenovus. As a key member of our Process Safety Department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe operation of our facilities and processes.
Key Responsibilities- Process Safety Expertise: Provide specialist interpretation, analysis, and guidance in process safety and technical safety engineering.
- HAZOP & LOPA Facilitation: Demonstrate strong expertise in HAZOP & LOPA facilitation, consequence modeling, quantitative risk assessment, or fire protection.
- Process Safety Guidance: Provide guidance on process safety, focusing on preventing loss of containment during all operational phases.
- Collaboration and Consultation: Consult with collaborators to integrate perspectives, optimizing hazard identification and risk control solutions.
- Process Safety Awareness: Improve process safety awareness by sharing simple, actionable practices.
- Operations Knowledge: Leverage operations knowledge to identify weak signals through data from management of change processes, control of work procedures, process upsets, and incidents.
- Barrier Management: Offers technical expertise in barrier management to prevent unplanned and uncontrolled releases.
- Change Management: Guide and lead change efforts to implement COIMS process safety standards, including regulatory requirements and external provider guidelines.
- Investigations and Reporting: Participate in or lead investigations of significant process safety events, offering recommendations and communicating insights through technical reports and presentations.
- Eligibility: Legally eligible to work in Canada.
- Education: Completion of a Bachelor of Science in Engineering.
- Professional Registration: Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) registered for practice in Alberta is required.
- Experience: 8+ years of operational experience with demonstrated process safety, hazard identification and risk assessment skills.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Dynamic Environment: Confirmed ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
