About the Opportunity

The Occupational Therapist will work under the supervision of the Manager of Rehabilitation Services, collaborating with patients, caregivers, and families to develop and implement individualized treatment plans. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct assessments and develop treatment plans to help patients achieve their goals
  • Collaborate with patients, caregivers, and families to provide education and support
  • Work independently and as part of a team to prioritize tasks and manage a busy caseload
  • Contribute to the clinical education of OT students and related health disciplines
  • Adhere to Nova Scotia Health policies and procedures, as well as professional standards
Requirements
  • Masters or Bachelors of Science in Occupational Therapy
  • Licensure with the provincial regulatory body, the College of Occupational Therapists of Nova Scotia
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Training
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to be flexible and adjust to changing needs
  • Access to reliable transportation
  • Competencies in other languages an asset
