About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Youth Health Centre Coordinator to join our Healthy Communities Public Health Team. The successful candidate will work within the Public Health Standards and Protocols and a Health Promoting Schools Approach, guided by the Public Health, Health Promoting Schools Standards.

The Youth Health Centre Coordinator will provide leadership, informal assessment, service navigation, youth engagement, and support for youth associated with the assigned school facility and its immediate community. The role will champion youth health, health equity, and facilitate youth engagement as a component of health-promoting schools.

The successful candidate will work with youth and foster cooperation and collaboration among school administrators, teachers, SchoolsPlus, guidance, student/youth support workers, primary health care, mental health and addictions, and other community partners to ensure youth have access to support, programs, and services within the school and community that promote health.

About You

We are looking for a candidate with a baccalaureate degree in a relevant health care discipline, such as registered nursing, occupational therapy, social work, or nutrition. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years' experience working with youth and be registered/licensed with their regulated health care discipline.

The successful candidate will have a valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle. They will be able to work independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team both within the organization and in the community.

The ideal candidate will have the ability to critically assess situations, navigate complex scenarios using sound decision-making and a non-judgmental, trauma-informed approach in supporting youth. They will also have demonstrated ability and experience in creating opportunities for meaningful youth engagement and fostering youth leadership.
