**Technical Coordinator - Road and ROW Position**

The City of Markham seeks a skilled Technical Coordinator to oversee design packages, permits, and construction activities within the public road allowance, providing professional customer services and addressing resident complaints.

**Job Summary**

Reporting to the Manager, Utility & Right-of-Way (ROW), this position will be responsible for:

* Reviewing design packages for Capital, Development, and third-party projects
* Overseeing and processing all types of Road permits
* Monitoring City assets and construction activities
* Providing professional customer services and addressing resident complaints
* Leading and directing activities of staff, including ROW Technicians and seasonal staff

**Key Responsibilities**

* Oversee and assist with review and processing of plans and applications, issue permits and collect fees related to all types of road permits
* Review plans and applications, attend meetings and coordinate departmental comments to ensure new development and capital projects conform to requirements
* Retain, prepare and administer service contracts and studies
* Liaise with all business units and departments as needed to complete tasks assigned
* Prepare and coordinate correspondence, council reports, briefing notes, presentation, contract drawings and statistics for the public, agencies and other departments
* Assemble and extract statistics for various annual benchmarking and reports
* Manage and implement data collection programs related to Operations assets and infrastructure inventory database

**Qualifications**

* Minimum of 2-3 year Community College Certificate/Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology
* Minimum of an OACETT designation of C.Tech, C.E.T., C.L.A. or equivalent
* General knowledge of roads and parks design, maintenance and/or construction of municipal infrastructures, with a minimum of 5-7 years related experience
* Demonstrated project management experience
* Proficiency with ESRI ArcMap (GIS), Auto Cad, Hanson, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access, Outlook), and various infrastructure management programs
* Excellent communications, customer service and interpersonal skills
