Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Advanced Care Paramedic to join our team at Pan Am Clinic. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide pre-hospital care to patients in emergency situations, utilizing advanced life support skills and knowledge of medical protocols.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans, ensuring seamless transitions between care settings.
  • Conduct thorough patient assessments, identifying and prioritizing medical needs, and providing appropriate interventions.
  • Operate and maintain advanced medical equipment, including defibrillators, ventilators, and medication administration devices.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams, providing clear and concise information about patient care and treatment plans.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an Advanced Care Paramedic program from an accredited Canadian education institution.
  • Certificate of Practice with the College of Paramedics of Manitoba - Member in good standing, at minimum at the Intermediate Care Paramedic level.
  • Valid Class IV Manitoba driver's license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS), level C or equivalent.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from an accredited training provider.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) from an accredited training provider.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from an accredited training provider.
  • Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) from an accredited training provider.
  • Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (EVOC) from a certified training provider.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3 years of full-time or equivalent experience providing pre-hospital care as a Primary Care Paramedic and/or Intermediate Care Paramedic.
  • Competent in an Indigenous language and/or knowledge of Indigenous customs, traditions, and values.
  • Working with individuals from diverse cultural, social, and ethnic backgrounds.
  • Experience working in patient relations and/or in a customer service capacity.
  • Use of Shared Health ERS and Digital Health technology, software programs (e.g. EDIS), and equipment.
  • Ability to communicate in multiple languages.
  • Competent in Windows-based computer programs.
