The Flight Paramedic will report directly to the Medical Program Manager and the Medevac Operations Manager, providing essential medical care to patients during air transportation. This role involves ensuring that patients receive the necessary medical attention that is unavailable at the originating facility.
The Flight Paramedic collaborates closely with the flight crew and other medical personnel, maintaining constant communication to guarantee that Medevac operations are executed smoothly and effectively.

Core Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care throughout the entire transport process for individuals requiring medical intervention
- Collaborate with crew members, pilots, and flight followers to ensure seamless patient transfers
- Maintain ongoing communication with various internal and external teams to facilitate efficient Medevac operations
- Act as a representative for Perimeter Aviation LP, reporting to the Medical Program Manager, Medevac Operations Manager, and Medical Director
- Ensure adherence to on-time performance metrics
- Complete all necessary equipment checklists in accordance with established protocols
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications and Certifications
- Current registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba or the College of Paramedics of Manitoba as an Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP)
- Valid Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
- Current Advanced Care Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support Certification (PHTLS) or Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
- Graduate of an accredited critical care or emergency nursing program, or possess a minimum of two years of relevant nursing experience or recognized ACP training
- Child Abuse Registry check
- Criminal Record check
- Ability to obtain and maintain necessary transportation security clearances and authorizations
- Valid Driver's license
- Valid passport
- Aeromedical Specialist training (CAMATA) preferred but not mandatory
- Enhanced education and experience considered advantageous
- Previous experience as a Flight Nurse/ACP is an asset
- Indigenous and Cultural Awareness Training is beneficial
Work Environment
- Physically capable of fulfilling all job responsibilities.
- Travel by aircraft and other means as required.
- When on duty, the assigned residence will be at the remote base with the crew, subject to operational needs.
- Must comply with the modified work agreement.
- Available for on-call duties 24/7 during scheduled shifts.
- Ability to lift, load, and secure patients, equipment, and baggage.
- Manual dexterity required for computer use and peripherals.
- Work conducted both indoors and outdoors, requiring adaptability to various weather conditions.
- Use of safety equipment as necessary, such as hearing protection and safety vests.
