Horizon Health Network (Horizon) is seeking a dedicated, motivated, detail-oriented and dependable individual to join our team to provide leadership as the Risk Management Consultant in the Miramichi area.

The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of health care systems and demonstrate experience in prioritizing, problem solving, decision-making, time management and planning.

Who you area

You have worked in a healthcare setting for a minimum of three years. You have a university degree in a related discipline or successful completion of a healthcare Risk Management course.

You have a demonstrated proficiency in computer skills of Microsoft Office applications.

You are able to work both independently and in a complex team environment and collaborate with a wide range of professionals and other stakeholders.

You have a working knowledge of health care systems.

You exhibit strong human relations and facilitation skills.

Written and spoken competence in English is required at an advanced level.

What you will do

Oversee and ensure effective management of the claims management process

Liaise with external legal counsel, adjusters and insurers as required

Represent the organization in litigation discovery process as required

Review and analyze incident report data, report trends and identify risk management issues

Provide assistance to the Risk Management Consultant in the Moncton area as required

Develop and lead risk management related projects, education, training and awareness; as well, assist managers/directors to design, implement and sustain local risk management plans

Investigate serious incidents and/or sentinel events and assist/conduct process reviews as required.

Represent risk management on various committees as required.
