Hotel Equities, a multi-award-winning hotel development and hospitality management company, is seeking a Director of Sales for Courtyard by Marriott Nanaimo in Nanaimo, British Columbia.
Job Summary: We are looking for an experienced Director of Sales to develop and implement sales strategies, secure new accounts, and maintain existing relationships to maximize hotel profitability.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain relationships with key clients to produce group business, including room sales, F&B sales, and catering/banquet services.
- Attend networking events, develop and maintain relationships with local community groups, companies, and trade organizations, and attend local and out-of-town meetings and conventions to generate sales.
- Conduct site tours, maintain customer database, develop contracts, and follow up with customers.
- Develop and manage the departmental budget, monitor sales activity and performance, and accurately report variances/projections to management.
Requirements:
- 2+ years of hotel sales experience.
- Experience with Marriott, Hilton, IHG, Wyndham, or Hyatt sales processes and systems.
- Well organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.
- Display initiative, perseverance, and analytical skills.
- Team player, professional, and lead with integrity.
- Available to meet guests, including weekends.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English with excellent grammar and communication skills.
