Reporting to the Senior Manager, Business Management, this role is responsible for complex business casing and performance management for Air Canada Product and the Aeroplan program.

Responsabilities:

  • Complex Business Casing and Strategy
    • Directly engage with the Product team to build strategic recommendations for new Product investments. For example, new lounge investment, new product launch program financial impact.
    • Working closely with the Loyalty team, support highly complex business cases, including transformational program decisions such as Air Canada points accrual structure, expiry policy. These decisions have a potential impact to Aeroplan's bottom line in the tens of millions of dollars each year.
    • Distill complex problems and work through potential solutions using financial, loyalty, revenue management, credit card, and other data sources.
    • Investigate opportunities into untapped markets based on deep analysis into a particular whitespace.
  • KPI ownership
    • Using PowerBI and Analytics provided data to contribute analysis on key Aeroplan program drivers for the weekly Program Performance Meeting (PPM), attended by Aeroplan and Marketing leadership.
    • Work with key Air Canada cross-functional stakeholders, such as Analytics, Data, Currency Management to ensure Program KPIs are readily available and accessible.
    • Deliver muti-year forecasts, taking into account multiple inputs and contributing factors, for key Aeroplan business drivers such as member growth, member attrition, cardholder spend, retail partner engagement.
    • Lead engagement with Finance to ensure KPIs are accurately reflected in financial reports.
    • Working with IR and Snr Management, support creation of Aeroplan and Product metrics and content for board and investor presentations.
    • Trusted internal advisor on results analysis and financial projections.
    • Ensure team members provide timely analysis for senior management on evolving competitive landscape changes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, marketing or related discipline required.
  • Accounting post graduate or MBA an asset.
  • 5+ years of experience in strategy, management consulting, accounting, or finance.
  • Exceptional financial, analytical, and planning skills, which enable solving tangible business problems.
  • Incredibly strong written skills with ability to develop and present materials suitable for an executive audience in a time-sensitive environment.
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally, communicate effectively and handle complex deliverables within and across business units.
  • Notable experience handling multiple time-critical projects within an evolving business environment.
  • Knowledge of Air Canada, Aeroplan and the international airline, banking & loyalty industry required.
  • Ability to synthesize complex information at a rapid pace to present for Senior Management.
