Job Description

We are seeking a motivated, organized, and knowledgeable Health and Safety Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for coordinating projects, ensuring compliance with OHSA regulations, and implementing our company's health and safety program.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in maintaining accurate records and reporting requirements.
  • Provide guidance on OHSA regulations and standards to staff.
  • Implement and adhere to company health & safety program and policy.
  • Investigate incidents and develop hazard control practices and programs.
  • Compile health & safety statistics and develop safe work practices.
  • Maintain accurate records to ensure compliance with health and safety laws and regulations.
  • Evaluate new equipment and materials brought into the facility.
  • Perform surveys and inspections to ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
  • Coordinate site's emergency planning and response process.
  • Participate in project specific health and safety program.

Qualifications:

  • Certificate or Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or related discipline.
  • Fire Sprinkler Industry or Construction Industry experience an asset.
  • Previous knowledge and working experience in Procore for project management tasks an asset.
  • Previous training experience (developing & conducting training) is considered an asset.
  • Aptitude to gather, analyze and report accurate injury and property loss statistics.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Exceptional organizational and technical writing skills and keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines.
  • Experience working with Excel, Word, Outlook, Adobe.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
