Respiratory Therapist required to provide critical care services to patients in various hospital settings, including intensive care units, emergency departments, and operating rooms.

Job Description

As a Respiratory Therapist at the University Health Network, you will be part of a dynamic team providing life-saving care to critically ill patients. Your expertise will be essential in managing airway and respiratory systems, administering medications, and performing diagnostic tests.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with airway management and respond to cardiac and respiratory arrests
  • Administer specialty aerosolized and MDI medications
  • Perform diagnostic tests such as bedside spirometry, oxygen saturation, and blood gas analysis
  • Manage ventilated patients according to departmental protocols
  • Participate in teaching patients the use of respiratory therapy equipment
Qualifications
  • Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
  • Previous experience as a Respiratory Therapist in Adult Critical Care preferred
  • Registration with the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists
  • Registered with the College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario
  • Certified Hyperbaric Medical Technologist (CHT) preferred
  • Ability to work in a Hyperbaric environment required and Hyperbaric Medicine experience preferred
  • Ability to perform without direct supervision
  • Effective communication skills
  • Commitment to personal and professional development
