Respiratory Therapist

About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, providing respiratory therapy services to patients in the Intensive Care Units, Emergency Department, Operating Rooms, Post Anesthetic Care Rooms, Wards, and other specialty areas.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with airway management, respond to cardiac and respiratory arrests, and provide trauma care
- Attend intra and inter-hospital transports of critically ill patients and administer specialty medications
- Act as a resource for nurses, residents, and allied health personnel in respiratory/airway-related care
- Teach patients the use of respiratory therapy equipment for hospital and home care use
- Perform diagnostic tests, such as bedside spirometry, oxygen saturations, and blood gas analysis
- Assist with bronchoscopies and manage ventilated patients according to departmental protocols
- Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
- Previous experience as a Respiratory Therapist in Adult Critical Care is preferred
- Registration with the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists and the College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario
- Certified Hyperbaric Medical Technologist (CHT) is preferred
- Ability to work in a Hyperbaric environment and experience in Hyperbaric Medicine is preferred
- Ability to perform without direct supervision
- Effective communication skills
- Commitment to personal and professional development
