Job Summary

The University Health Network is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will provide respiratory therapy services to patients in various settings, including intensive care units, emergency departments, and operating rooms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with airway management and respond to cardiac and respiratory arrests
  • Participate in intra and inter-hospital transports of critically ill patients
  • Act as a resource for nurses, residents, and allied health personnel in respiratory care
  • Teach patients the use of respiratory therapy equipment for hospital and home care
  • Perform diagnostic tests, such as spirometry, oxygen saturations, and blood gas analysis
  • Assist with bronchoscopies and manage ventilated patients according to departmental protocols

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
  • Registration with the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists (preferred)
  • Registration with the College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario
  • At least 1 year of practical experience in respiratory therapy
  • Ability to work independently and effectively communicate with the healthcare team
