Your Impact:

The Payroll Specialist is responsible for the timely and accurate processing of payroll for entities within OpenText. Key responsibilities include:

  • Processing payroll tasks for MEX employees, including data input, audits, and reporting.
  • Interacting with other payroll team members and providing high-level customer service to stakeholders.
  • Ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Auditing information from the HR system for accuracy.
  • Verification and reconciliation of each payroll run and resolving discrepancies.
  • Ensuring timely government filings and remittances relative to payroll.
  • Calculation of manual cheques when required.
  • Completing Year-End Process and filing applicable tax year-end filings.
  • Identifying and processing taxable benefits.
  • Dealing with requests and correspondence promptly and efficiently.
  • Assisting employees with payroll requests and questions.
  • Administration of Employee Share Purchase Plan (ESPP) and Stock Options as related to payroll.
  • Pension remittances and reporting.
  • Providing Finance with GL details and assisting in reconciliations and research.
  • Staying abreast of legislative changes and compliance issues.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2-3+ years' experience in US, CAN or MEX Payroll, with an international company with multiple legal entities.
  • Outsourced payroll packages experience, preferably with ADP GlobalView, ADP Streamline, and ADP Celergo.
  • Second Language (Spanish or Portuguese) skill considered an asset.
  • PCP/PLP Canadian certification a plus.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, detail-oriented, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and as a co-operative team member.
  • Organized with an ability to balance multiple projects in a fast-paced environment while working towards strict deadlines.
  • Strong issue resolution skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills (English).
