The Ministry of Infrastructure (MOI) is seeking highly motivated individuals with proven leadership and project management expertise to contribute to the Ministry's efforts in managing the delivery of accommodation and infrastructure initiatives and projects.

The Office Optimization Division at MOI, along with its ministry partners and Infrastructure Ontario, are taking steps to repurpose the design and use of existing workplaces to foster increased collaboration and optimization of the footprint now and in the future.

What can I expect to do in this role?You will:

  • Provide client services program coordination and delivery to client Divisions/Branches
  • Implement accommodations and infrastructure planning, project and service delivery to client Division/program areas
  • Lead the planning, implementation and delivery accommodation and infrastructure initiatives and projects
  • Develop, implement and coordinate comprehensive strategic asset management planning systems
  • Work closely with program leaders to understand program needs, develop options and build plans that meet those needs
  • Work collaboratively to deliver against expectations, identifying and proactively working through issues/risks and having a client centric, solution oriented approach.
Please note:

  • Occasional travel to project sites across the province, as required.
  • This position is located at 5700 Yonge Street in North York, however alternate work arrangements/locations may be available.
How do I qualify?Communication, Relationship Management and Consultation Skills

  • You demonstrate strong written and oral communication skills to prepare and present business cases, articulate recommendations to senior management, advise clients and prepare a variety of written documents (e.g. reports, correspondence, presentations).
  • You have excellent client/customer service, relationship management, and interpersonal skills to provide quality customer service to clients, engage diplomatically and build effective networks with senior management, client staff, colleagues, stakeholders and service providers.
  • You can consult with clients, other ministries, ad agencies on operational and policy issues.
  • You can negotiate and influence project scope, planning and delivery, and negotiate contract changes and agreements.
Asset Management, Planning and Policy Development Knowledge

  • You have knowledge of the theories, principles, practices and methods pertaining to asset management (e.g. capital and accommodation, ministry infrastructure guidelines for transfer payment agencies), planning, and policy development.
  • You can accurately interpret and apply relevant legislation, regulations, standards, guidelines, policies, directives and concepts that impact capital accommodation policies and annual planning.
  • You know and have experience with various accommodation and facilities processes.
Project Management, Leadership and Organizational Skills

  • You have project management expertise to lead complex capital and accommodation planning projects.
  • You are a strong leader and are able to provide guidance and leadership to the team.
  • You know how to plan, organize, coordinate and evaluate the client's capital and accommodation program and service delivery.
Strategic and Financial Management and Analytical Skills

  • You have strategic management, analytical, and conceptual skills to develop and implement strategies that focus on capital accommodation planning and delivery and cost-effectiveness.
  • You have skills in financial management skills to lead and develop business cases and reports that include detailed financial analysis, cost benefit analysis, needs analysis, risk analysis, feasibility study, and options analyses.
  • You are able to assess client requirements and develop and resolve complex project issues and/or operational problems.
