As the Manager of Pricing & Portfolio Management, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the Retail Deposits Pricing & Portfolio Management in Canada. Your responsibilities will include ensuring that business strategies, plans, and initiatives are executed in alignment with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and evaluate portfolio trends, providing timely insights on key performance indicators to meet annual targets.
  • Engage in routine portfolio performance assessments, including weekly/monthly results, forecasting, and annual planning in collaboration with the Product Team and Finance.
  • Develop financial models to assess business performance.
  • Analyze competitor offerings to maintain strategic positioning of the investment portfolio.
  • Enhance rate optimization models and methodologies to ensure competitive rates that meet financial and non-financial objectives.
  • Support the design and maintenance of portfolio models for business analysis and pricing exceptions.
  • Utilize data to recommend solutions for the development of analytics or reports.
  • Manage ad-hoc assignments or special projects in partnership with various business lines.
  • Oversee the Deposits Exception Pricing Desk and the SmartBot tool across multiple banking channels.
  • Provide insights to the Pricing committee regarding exception trends and competitor offerings.
  • Assist in managing the GIC Early Redemption inbox for reviewing exception cases.
  • Facilitate the pricing optimization and execution of approval changes across Retail Products.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance operational efficiency and improve processes.
  • Consider the Bank's risk appetite and culture in daily activities and decisions.
  • Promote effective operations in accordance with Scotiabank's Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Foster a high-performance environment and contribute to an inclusive workplace.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education, with an MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Extensive experience in the financial services sector.
  • Background in product P&L management, finance, or business analytics.
  • Solid understanding of the GIC market and related products.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Proven project management abilities to prioritize and implement initiatives.
  • Excellent time management skills with a track record of meeting deadlines.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with SAS/SQL is an asset.
