Risk Management Officer

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Risk Management Officer to join our Financial Services Department. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in identifying, evaluating, and mitigating risks across all departments, operations, properties, projects, and assets.

About the Role:

  • Administer and manage the risk management program and insurance policy portfolio for all departments, operations, properties, projects, equipment, and other assets.
  • Identify and evaluate risk exposure by conducting risk management audits, interviewing personnel, and reviewing records.
  • Administer the settlement of all claims made by or against the organization.
  • Recommend levels of insurance coverage and negotiate terms and contracts with insurance brokers and underwriters.
  • Liaise with external and internal contacts, including insurance brokers, adjusters, underwriters, engineers, architects, and project managers.
  • Review tenders and contracts to recommend appropriate treatment of risk exposure.
  • Maintain risk management and insurance records and prepare summary statistical and informational reports.

Requirements:

  • Completion of the 12th grade, supplemented by courses leading to the CRM certification or equivalent, and considerable related work experience in risk management, claims adjusting, or underwriting.
  • Thorough knowledge of risk management principles and practices.
  • Thorough knowledge of the objectives, policies, and procedures of the risk management plan.
  • Thorough knowledge of insurance policies, coverages, and claims management and adjusting procedures.
  • Considerable knowledge of insurance industry trends and developments.
  • Sound knowledge of contract law.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external contacts.
  • Ability to compare alternative methods of risk financing.
  • Ability to review operational activities in terms of risk exposure and recommend feasible treatment alternatives.
  • Ability to develop and implement new insurance policies and process claims.
  • Ability to negotiate terms of insurance coverage and claims settlements.
  • Ability to prepare and maintain extensive records and produce reports.
  • Ability to perform all duties with minimal direction.
