About the role

Shopify partners with the largest companies in the world to integrate and build products together to help our merchants better connect with their customers. These partnerships are complex and often touch many different kinds of products. Managing these partnerships relies on expert relationship management skills, commerce/ads industry knowledge, and deep product knowledge.

We're looking for an individual to fully own our Google and Meta relationships. You will nurture these relationships with a holistic (cross-Shopify) point of a view, owning them 100% end-to-end for Shopify.

You'll drive the long-term success of these partners, including any future business & product development initiatives across product areas of Shopify. This is a highly collaborative and cross-functional role. You'll interact frequently with legal, engineering, product, design, support, and marketing teams. You'll become an expert on Shopify's product strategy, and align our product goals with those of your partners. We value creative thinkers, driven, collaborative, and action-oriented individuals, who take pride in the craft of partnerships and their product expertise. We're looking for someone who can imagine what's possible to build, and help implement that future.

Responsibilities:

  • Own our product development strategy in relationship with these partners
  • Think strategically about new business models, and product integrations with the ability to increase merchant value and innovation through our partner relationships
  • Lead discussions across other functional teams within Shopify including Product, Engineering, Marketing, Support, Legal, and Finance to execute on various opportunities
  • Be a player and have a passion for orchestration. We value individuals who roll up their sleeves and know the intimate details, and have a focus on do-what-it-takes to get something done
  • Be independently minded and laser focused on your partnership growth goals

What you bring to the team:

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. You're comfortable drafting documents to convey your arguments asynchronously, and able to communicate effectively from the most junior team member to the most senior executive internally and externally.
  • Proven experience in collaborative product development with strategic partners
  • Solid negotiating skills: understand how to drive positive-sum outcomes and navigate how much to push internally and externally toward the best outcome for merchants
  • Experience working cross-functionally and managing multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to make things happen in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Communication & storytelling: proficient in executive communication internally and externally
  • Bonus if you've managed or signed complex product partnerships with large companies
  • Bonus if you have experience in small and medium businesses, commerce, ads, or adjacent industries
