Unit Clerk, Radiation Oncology job at BC Cancer in Vancouver, BC, involves performing clerical duties, maintaining a safe environment, and coordinating patient care.
As a Unit Clerk, you will:
- Transcribe and process clinician orders, schedule tests and services, and communicate patient information.
- Organize diagnostic and therapeutic services, prepare instructions for patients, and coordinate appointments.
- Gather patient information, transport documents, and prepare clinical team materials.
- Perform receptionist duties, greet patients, answer phone calls, and respond to inquiries.
- Participate in staff onboarding, demonstrate work procedures, and support student clinical practicums.
Requirements:
- Grade 12, medical terminology, and graduation from a recognized Nursing Unit Clerk Program, plus one year's recent experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively, deal with others, and operate related equipment.
- Ability to keyboard 40 w.p.m., organize work, and utilize computer software applications.
- Commitment to upholding reconciliation in Canada, knowledge of Indigenous realities, and familiarity with Indigenous Cultural Safety.
