At PHSA, we're committed to providing exceptional care to our patients and their families. As a Unit Clerk, Radiation Oncology, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our cancer care units.
Key Responsibilities:
- Transcribe and process clinician orders, utilizing the electronic health record system to schedule tests or services, and communicate relevant information according to procedure.
- Organize diagnostic and therapeutic services for patients by coordinating interrelated appointments, preparing and communicating related instructions to patients, and gathering patient information to facilitate efficient patient flow.
- Perform a variety of receptionist duties, including greeting and registering patients, supporting wayfinding, answering the telephone/switchboard, and responding to inquiries.
Requirements:
- Grade 12, medical terminology, and graduation from a recognized Nursing Unit Clerk Program, plus one year's recent, related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, deal with others effectively, and possess physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
- Ability to keyboard 40 wpm, organize work, operate related equipment, and utilize a variety of computer software applications.
- Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada, as per TRC and BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act.
- Knowledge of social, economic, political, and historical realities impacting Indigenous communities and familiarity with Indigenous Cultural Safety and anti-racism and accompanying reports.

Location: Provincial Position, which involves remote work; however, the candidate must be within the vicinity of a regional BC Cancer Centre to work on-site as required.
Hours of Work: Monday-Friday; or as operationally required.
