The Opportunity

The VP, Institutional Business Development is responsible for building market share by creating, maintaining, and executing account strategies and plans that develop and encourage long term client relationships with existing, new accounts and consultants. The incumbent will build and maintain strong client relationships at multiple levels within an account to uncover, qualify and close sales opportunities and build the Fidelity brand. They will use their extensive technical knowledge to generate business development and keep prospects updated and abreast of Fidelity's competitive advantages.

Identify, qualify new business, strategic partnerships and participate in short list presentations that meets or exceeds annual sales and consultant relations targets in an effort to grow our institutional business. Work with consultant and research teams to ensure relevant strategies are rated positive Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify potential business opportunities Cultivate close ongoing relationships with market influences, consultants and plan sponsors. Collaborate with broader teams to create one face to the customer and provide leadership and direction to the organization and team members on day-to-day execution of account plans, events and product needs and service standards. Become an expert in the organization's products and where they sit within the industry.

What We're Looking For

Completed University Degree preferably in Business, Commerce, Finance, related field or equivalent work experience 7-10 years of experience in a front-line role with an Institutional Money Manager or a Consulting Firm with DC with working knowledge Proven track record of developing and maintaining strong relationships at multiple levels across the organization Designations or equivalent technical knowledge and understanding of the investment industry, legal and regulatory environment, financial products are an asset, i.e. CFA, MBA

Analytical - Understand the technical nature of the market and this segment of the industry. Ability to analyze technical products relative to the industry Excellent Communicator - Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate to all audiences and on behalf of the Portfolio Manager when required. Expert investment/technical knowledge - Ability to communicate confidently with top level executive/senior staff and investment professionals in investment review and short list sales meetings with clients. In certain meetings, the Business Development individual on behalf of a PM, presenting an in-depth report on performance, attribution, holdings, portfolio commentary and positioning, and market commentary. Building and Maintaining relationship - Solid knowledge of money managers, consultants, pension regulations, asset management, investments, trends, policies, operations, contracts and transitions Persistent & Resourceful - Ability to classify and allocate appropriate time and resources to plan call cycles, account development and prospecting activities Team Player - With good negotiation and collaboration skills Project Management - The ability to define problems and find appropriate solutions. Sales - Ability to message a full variety of messages, including the "What's in for me", in a concise and compelling manner

Current work authorization for Canada is required for all openings.

Description du poste

Le vice-président ou la vice-présidente, Expansion des affaires institutionnelles est responsable de l'accroissement de la part de marché de Fidelity en élaborant et en mettant en oeuvre des stratégies et des plans afin d'établir et de favoriser des relations à long terme avec les clients existants, les nouveaux clients et les consultants. Le ou la titulaire du poste établira et entretiendra de solides relations avec les clients à plusieurs niveaux pour repérer, qualifier et saisir les occasions de vente et promouvoir la marque de Fidelity. Cette personne utilisera ses vastes connaissances techniques pour contribuer à l'expansion des affaires et tenir les clients potentiels au courant des avantages concurrentiels de Fidelity.

Identifier et qualifier de nouveaux partenariats d'affaires stratégiques et donner des présentations sur les ventes restreintes visant à atteindre ou dépasser les objectifs annuels de vente et de relations avec les consultants en vue de faire croître nos activités institutionnelles. Collaborer avec les consultants et les équipes de recherche pour s'assurer que les stratégies pertinentes donnent des résultats positifs. Surveiller les tendances du marché et les activités des concurrents pour repérer les occasions d'affaires potentielles. Cultiver des relations étroites et continues avec les personnes qui ont de l'influence sur les marchés, les consultants et les promoteurs de régimes. Collaborer avec d'autres équipes plus larges dans le but d'offrir aux clients un interlocuteur unique et fournir de l'encadrement et des directives à la société et aux membres de l'équipe quant à la gestion quotidienne des plans de compte, des événements, des besoins en matière de produits et des normes de service. Développer une connaissance approfondie des produits de la société et de leur positionnement dans le secteur.

Qualifications requises

Diplôme universitaire, de préférence en administration des affaires, en commerce, en finance ou dans un domaine connexe, ou une expérience professionnelle équivalente 7 à 10 ans d'expérience dans un poste de premier plan auprès d'un gestionnaire de fonds institutionnels ou d'une société de services-conseils, assortie d'une connaissance pratique des régimes à cotisations déterminées Expérience éprouvée dans le développement et le maintien de relations solides à plusieurs niveaux au sein d'une organisation Désignations ou connaissances techniques équivalentes et compréhension du secteur des placements, du contexte juridique et réglementaire, des produits financiers, considérées comme un atout (p. ex. CFA, M.B.A)

Lors de certaines réunions, la personne chargée de l'expansion des affaires peut présenter, au nom d'un gestionnaire de portefeuille, un rapport détaillé sur le rendement, l'attribution et les titres en portefeuille, en plus d'émettre des commentaires sur la structure du portefeuille, la répartition de l'actif et le marché. Capacité d'établir et d'entretenir des relations grâce à une solide connaissance des gestionnaires de fonds, des consultants, de la réglementation des régimes de retraite, de la gestion des actifs, des placements, des tendances, des politiques, des opérations, des contrats et des transitions. Persévérance et ingéniosité : capacité d'analyser et d'allouer le temps et les ressources nécessaires pour planifier les cycles d'appels, l'élaboration de comptes et les activités de prospection. Esprit d'équipe, doublé d'excellentes compétences en négociation et d'une approche collaborative Compétences en gestion de projets et capacité de définir des problèmes et de trouver des solutions appropriées. Ventes : capacité de transmettre une grande variété de messages, y compris les avantages pour le client, de façon concise et convaincante.
