Part Time Clinical Psychologist Job Description We are seeking a skilled Clinical Psychologist to provide comprehensive psychological services to clients experiencing acute mental health challenges. Job Summary The Clinical Psychologist will be responsible for providing a full range of psychological services, including assessments, diagnoses, and treatments, to clients and their families within the Mental Health and Substance Use program. The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology and at least five years of experience in psycho-diagnostic assessment and testing. Responsibilities • Provide comprehensive psychological assessments of client functioning to identify underlying disorders and develop effective treatment plans • Conduct evidence-based psychological treatments to address a wide variety of presenting clinical issues • Evaluate the effectiveness of psychological treatments and provide new recommendations and care as appropriate • Accept referrals from clinical team members and provide consultation on assessment and treatment issues • Maintain liaison with referring physicians and other professionals regarding clients' total care • Provide education and consultation to interdisciplinary team members and their students • Participate in the development of evidence-based clinical practice guidelines and pathways • Attend and participate in multidisciplinary conferences, medical rounds, and service meetings Qualifications • Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from a recognized and accredited learning institution • Five years' recent, related experience in psycho-diagnostic assessment/testing of psychological function and disorders • Demonstrated experience working with and leading psychological interventions, consultation, and interdisciplinary team work with complex clients • Current registration with the College of Health and Care Professionals of British Columbia (CHCPBC) • Current Class 5 Driver's license and access to a personal vehicle for business-related purposes Skills and Abilities • Demonstrated knowledge of developmental theories, family and social dynamics, psychological assessment/testing and interpretation, psychological treatment modalities and mental disorders • Demonstrated ability to provide effective psychological treatment to people with various mental disorders • Knowledge of legal and ethical issues related to mental health certification in accordance with the Mental Health Act and other relevant legislation • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and to contribute as a member of an interdisciplinary team • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, including comprehensive written assessments About Fraser Health Fraser Health is a leading healthcare provider in Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley, serving over two million people.
