We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Psychologist to join our team in Surrey, B.C. as a Part-Time Clinical Psychologist, Mental Health and Substance Use Services, IPU.
Key Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive psychological assessments and diagnoses to clients experiencing acute mental illness.
- Develop and implement evidence-based psychological treatments to address a wide range of mental health challenges.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide consultation and guidance on assessment and treatment issues.
- Communicate assessment data, interpretations, and recommendations to referring physicians and other professionals.
- Participate in program evaluation, program planning, and implementation.
- Supervise psychology students and interns as assigned.
Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from a recognized and accredited learning institution. Five years' recent, related experience in psycho-diagnostic assessment/testing of psychological function and disorders or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Demonstrated experience working with and leading psychological interventions, consultation, and interdisciplinary team work with complex clients. Current registration with the College of Health and Care Professionals of British Columbia (CHCPBC).
Current Class 5 Driver's license and access to a personal vehicle for business-related purposes, as required.
Skills and Abilities- Demonstrated knowledge of developmental theories, family and social dynamics, psychological assessment/testing and interpretation, psychological treatment modalities and mental disorders as defined by the most current version of the DSM or ICD.
- Demonstrated ability to provide effective psychological treatment to people with various mental disorders.
- Knowledge of legal and ethical issues related to mental health certification in accordance with the Mental Health Act and other relevant legislation.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and to contribute as a member of an interdisciplinary team.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, including comprehensive written assessments.
- Demonstrated knowledge of relevant legislation.
- Demonstrated ability to implement guidelines, decision support tools and protocols.
- Demonstrated quality assurance, program evaluation, and research skills.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively lead, teach and mentor others.
- Ability to plan, implement, organize and prioritize work.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the job.
