Information and Special Initiatives Coordinator Job Description

Develop and execute communication plans and initiatives for the Office of the Registrar, supporting student progression and registrar team efforts.

About the Role:

  • Develop, maintain, and execute communication initiatives and plans for the department
  • Coordinate internal communication efforts
  • Provide writing, editing, and formatting support
  • Maintain relevant information about the Office of the Registrar's presence on the NAIT intranet and MyNAIT platforms
  • Play a key role in developing and executing communication strategies to engage and inform prospective students, applicants, and current students
  • Develop and maintain up-to-date, informative, and engaging content for relevant webpages, MyNAIT portal pages, e-letters, email campaigns, etc.
  • Ensure critical data and information is accurate, up-to-date, and readily available for users
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to gather, verify, and update content regularly
  • Support the management team with various initiatives and research projects throughout the year

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute communication plans and initiatives for the Office of the Registrar

Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent writing, editing, and proof-reading skills
  • Experience with developing and executing communication plans and strategies
  • Knowledge of the student life cycle and student engagement strategies
  • Ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders and functional units, and foster positive productive working relationships
  • Organization, planning, and project coordination skills
  • Strong technical aptitude and user of common office applications
  • Familiarity with student lifecycle and Registrar's Office policies, procedures, and business processes
  • Familiarity with NAIT brand guidelines, style guides, and web writing best practices

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or degree in Communications or related field required
  • 1-3 years of experience with web writing, communication planning and execution, research, writing reports, and creating executive summaries
  • Equivalencies may be considered
