About the Role

As a Community Safety Advisor, you will provide subject matter expertise in areas related to crime prevention, community safety and sense of safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide consultative and facilitative leadership and support in roles ranging from advocate, educator, convenor, capacity builder to coordinator.
  • Develop and implement strategies to prevent crime and promote community safety.
  • Build and maintain relationships with community stakeholders to promote a sense of safety.
  • Provide education and training to community members on crime prevention and community safety.
  • Convene and facilitate meetings with community stakeholders to discuss community safety concerns.
  • Build capacity within community organizations to promote community safety.
  • Coordinate community safety initiatives and programs.
Qualifications
  • Diploma in related discipline (Community or Social Development, Criminology, Public Administration or equivalent)
  • Bylaw Enforcement and Investigative Skills education or equivalent
  • Experience in conflict resolution, communication, people management, project management, computer literacy, teamwork and BC Drivers License - Class 5
  • RCMP Enhanced Security Clearance
