Job Description: This position is a senior position responsible for the clinical supervision of staff, development and implementation of programs, scheduling and managing clinical needs as they arise for clients receiving services at Calder Centre. The youth program is comprised of 12 treatment beds and 6 Detox beds, and the adult program has 38 beds. The incumbent reports to Calder Program Managers. The incumbent is responsible to work with the Calder Centre Nurse and staff to triage acute medical, psychiatric and detoxification issues.

Experience

  • Experience with clinical skill development training
  • Two years of in-depth knowledge of concurrent disorders
  • Two years supervised clinical experience in the addictions field

Education

  • Bachelor of Chemical Dependency

Other Education and Training

  • Bachelor Degree acceptable to the employer
  • OH&S Safety for Supervisors Training
  • Bachelor of Social Sciences is acceptable
  • Bachelor of Human Services is acceptable

  • Knowledge in program development and implementation

  • Ability to administer chemical dependency screening and assessment tools

  • Knowledge in drugs of abuse and their effects
  • Knowledge in Developmental Model of Recovery
  • Knowledge in various therapeutic approaches
  • Demonstrated successful supervision of staff

  • Knowledge of the DSM-5
  • Ability to work with individuals from a variety of cultural & ethnic backgrounds
  • Trained in current ASIST suicide risk assessment model
  • Knowledge of the Provincial Addiction Clinical Model
