Senior Buyer Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Buyer to coordinate procurement activities and assist the Procurement Manager in a buying group.
About the Job
The Senior Buyer is responsible for gathering information related to contract costing, analysis, and statistical reporting. They will act as a liaison between vendors and end-users, monitor and evaluate buying decision rationale, contract value, and expiry dates. The incumbent will assist and support the Procurement Manager when necessary and prepare request for quotations for goods and services that fall under public procurement thresholds. They will also be responsible for contract creation and amending agreements, and provide expertise in regards to patient safety and comfort.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate procurement activities and assist the Procurement Manager
- Gather information related to contract costing, analysis, and statistical reporting
- Act as a liaison between vendors and end-users
- Monitor and evaluate buying decision rationale, contract value, and expiry dates
- Prepare request for quotations for goods and services that fall under public procurement thresholds
- Contract creation and amending agreements
- Provide expertise in regards to patient safety and comfort
Requirements
- Grade 12 and completion of a two-year program in Business, IT, Supply Chain or equivalent
- Three (3) years related experience required
- Enrollment in Purchasing Management Association of Canada Program Courses is an asset
- Experience in a Procurement, Materials Management department involving
- Understanding of Purchasing Principles, Inventory Management including knowledge of E-Commerce practices and on-line (computerized) purchasing preferred
- SAP experience preferred
- Purchasing Management Association of Canada Program Courses
- Excellent negotiation and project management skills
- Familiar with legal requirements of contracts
- Effective time management skills
- Oral, written, interpretation & communications skills
- Competencies in other languages preferred; French an asset
Working Conditions
- Permanent / Full-Time / 75 Hours Bi-weekly
Compensation
$32.58 Hourly
