Senior Procurement Specialist

The Senior Buyer plays a crucial role in coordinating procurement activities for a buying group, supporting the Procurement Manager on a daily basis. This involves gathering information related to contract costing, analysis, and statistical reporting, as well as acting as a liaison between vendors and end-users.
The Senior Buyer is responsible for contract maintenance, monitoring and evaluating buying decision rationale, contract value, and expiry dates. They assist the Procurement Manager as needed and prepare requests for quotations for goods and services under public procurement thresholds. Additionally, they create and amend agreements, facilitate the public tendering process, and work with internal stakeholders to coordinate meetings and documentation.
The Senior Buyer provides Provincial Health Care facilities and departments with goods and services at the best possible price, prioritizing patient safety and comfort. They issue purchase orders, provide procurement quality control, and review and audit contract files.
About YouWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional with a strong background in procurement, supply chain management, or a related field. The ideal candidate will have a Grade 12 diploma and a two-year program in Business, IT, Supply Chain, or equivalent. Three years of related experience are required, with enrollment in Purchasing Management Association of Canada Program Courses being an asset.
The successful candidate will possess excellent negotiation and project management skills, as well as a strong understanding of purchasing principles, inventory management, and e-commerce practices. SAP experience is preferred, and proficiency in other languages, particularly French, is an asset.
Hours and CompensationThis is a permanent, full-time position with a 75-hour bi-weekly schedule. The hourly rate is $32.58, and successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package, including health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
