About the Opportunity

The Senior Buyer is responsible for coordinating procurement activities, assisting the Procurement Manager, and gathering information related to contract costing, analysis, and statistical reporting. The incumbent acts as a liaison between vendors and end-users, monitors contract maintenance, and evaluates buying decision rationale, contract value, and expiry dates.

The Senior Buyer performs contract creation, amendment, and procurement quality control, reviewing and auditing contract files. They issue purchase orders, provide expertise on patient safety and comfort, and work with internal stakeholders to coordinate meetings and documentation for the RFP process.

About You

We seek a candidate with a Grade 12 diploma and a two-year program in Business, IT, Supply Chain, or equivalent. Three years of related experience are required, with enrollment in Purchasing Management Association of Canada Program Courses being an asset. The ideal candidate has experience in procurement, materials management, and purchasing principles, with knowledge of E-Commerce practices and online purchasing.

Excellent negotiation and project management skills are essential, along with proficiency in SAP and Purchasing Management Association of Canada Program Courses. The candidate must have effective time management skills, oral, written, interpretation, and communication skills, and be familiar with legal requirements of contracts. Competencies in other languages, particularly French, are preferred.

Hours and Compensation

This is a permanent, full-time position with a 75-hour bi-weekly schedule. The hourly rate is $32.58, and successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package, including health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
