Job Summary

The Associate Director, Application Management, plays a critical role in driving the strategic direction of UBC's IT solutions. Reporting to the Director, Program Delivery, this position oversees the development, implementation, and support of integrated business solutions and long-term plans. The successful candidate will provide strategic guidance and domain expertise to senior leaders, ensuring alignment with UBC's strategic goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic leadership and direction to teams supporting enterprise systems, ensuring alignment with UBC's IT strategic framework.
  • Develop and implement business cases for IT investments, ensuring benefits realization and successful implementation.
  • Oversee the evaluation, installation, configuration, and deployment of new applications within the Program Delivery Portfolio.
  • Manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and identify opportunities to reduce expenses and improve value.
  • Develop and review budgets for enterprise systems and projects, ensuring fiscal awareness and responsibility.
  • Act as the main liaison between core teams within the Program Delivery Portfolio and other UBC IT teams and ISC teams and stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Post-graduate degree.
  • Minimum of eleven years of related experience, including at least five years of managerial experience and four years of specialized experience in the design and implementation of major computer systems.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven senior-level experience in managing budgets and financial plans.
  • Demonstrated ability to foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and innovation.
