Industrial Fabrication Expert

Prolium Industries is seeking a skilled Journeyman Welder to join our team in Atlantic Canada. As a key member of our maintenance operations, you will be responsible for fabricating and welding tank components to the highest industry standards.
Key Responsibilities- Fabrication and Welding: Utilize SMAW techniques to fabricate and weld tank components, ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulations.
- Out-of-Position Welding: Perform SMAW welding in challenging positions, requiring precision and attention to detail.
- Reading and Understanding Drawings: Interpret and apply knowledge of drawings and blueprints to ensure accurate fabrication and welding.
- Tool and Equipment Operation: Safely operate various tools and equipment, including grinders, hydraulic jacks, and oxy-acetylene equipment, under supervision.
- General Steelwork: Perform tasks such as grinding, buffing, and oxy-acetylene use, requiring a strong understanding of steel properties and handling.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with the team to ensure a quality product is delivered, adhering to safety protocols and procedures.
- Physical Demands: Meet the physical demands of the role, including safely lifting 50 lbs and working in confined spaces.
- Punctuality and Attendance: Maintain punctual attendance and adhere to company attendance policies.
- Safety Compliance: Comply with all safety requirements, regulations, and protocols, including pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.
- Certifications and Qualifications: Possess valid certifications, such as a Journeyman Ticket or Apprenticeship documentation, and a valid Class 5 driver's license.
- Red Seal Trade Ticket: Hold a valid Interprovincial Red Seal trade ticket, preferably in welding.
- Welder's Qualification Test: Successfully complete a welder's qualification test (ASME IX) as a condition of employment.
- H2S Alive or Awareness: Possess a valid H2S Alive or Awareness certification.
- Confined Space Entry and/or Rescue: Hold a valid Confined Space Entry and/or Rescue certification.
- CSTS 2020: Possess a valid CSTS 2020 certification.
- WHMIS 2015: Hold a valid WHMIS 2015 certification.
- Fall Protection: Possess a valid Fall Protection certification, preferably with CSA Steel-toed boots.
