Welder Specialist

Prolium Industries, a leading provider of above ground storage tank maintenance services, is seeking a skilled Journeyman Welder to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for fabricating and welding tank components to the highest industry standards.

• Fabrication and Welding: Utilize SMAW techniques to fabricate and weld tank components, ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulations.
• Out-of-Position Welding: Perform SMAW welding in challenging positions, requiring precision and attention to detail.
• Reading and Understanding Drawings: Interpret and apply knowledge of drawings and blueprints to ensure accurate fabrication and welding.
• Tool and Equipment Operation: Safely operate various tools and equipment, including grinders, hydraulic jacks, and oxy-acetylene equipment, under supervision.
• General Steelwork: Perform tasks such as grinding, buffing, and oxy-acetylene cutting on steel components.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with the team to ensure a quality product is delivered, participating in daily toolboxes and safety meetings.
• Physical Demands: Meet the physical demands of the role, including safely lifting 50 lbs and working in confined spaces.

• Punctuality and Attendance: Maintain punctual attendance and adhere to company attendance policies.
• Safety Compliance: Comply with all safety requirements, including pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.
• Certifications and Qualifications: Provide proof of completion of all required safety certifications, including H2S Alive or Awareness, Confined Space Entry and/or Rescue, CSTS 2020, WHMIS 2015, and Fall protection (asset).
• Valid Licenses and Tickets: Possess a valid Class 5 driver's license, valid Journeyman Ticket or Apprenticeship documentation, Interprovincial Red Seal trade ticket (asset), CWB Ticket all position SMAW, and valid B-Pressure ticket (asset).
• Employment Requirements: Employment is contingent on successful completion of a welder's qualification test (ASME IX).
