About the Role

Fraser Health Authority is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Regional Medical Director to lead our Learning and Research portfolio. As a key member of our senior leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a strategic vision for medical research and education within our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Leadership: Provide medical leadership to develop and implement a strategic vision for medical research and education within Fraser Health Authority.
  • Collaboration and Partnerships: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including academic institutions, research agencies, and government partners, to advance medical research and education initiatives.
  • Program Development and Evaluation: Develop, implement, and evaluate programs and services to advance medical research and education within Fraser Health Authority.
  • Medical Education and Research: Lead the development and implementation of medical education and research programs, including the creation of a new medical school in partnership with Simon Fraser University and the First Nations Health Authority.
  • Research Governance and Ethics: Ensure that medical research conducted within Fraser Health Authority is governed by established policies and procedures, and that researchers adhere to established guidelines and regulations.
  • Communication and Representation: Represent Fraser Health Authority in local, provincial, and national forums related to medical research and education.
Requirements
  • Eligibility: Eligibility for membership on the Fraser Health Medical Staff.
  • Leadership Experience: Five (5) years leadership experience within the healthcare sector and experience in hospital-based leadership.
  • Education and Training: A master's degree in health administration, nursing, business administration or equivalent experience, and additional leadership training.
  • Experience with Budgetary and Operational Planning: Experience with budgetary and operational planning, including the development and management of budgets and operational plans.
