About the Role

The Regional Medical Director - Learning and Research is a key leadership position at Fraser Health, responsible for driving the development and implementation of a comprehensive learning and research strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Leadership: Provide strategic medical leadership to collaboratively develop a vision for Fraser Health's Learning and Research programs, and ensure the planning, coordination, integration, operation, and evaluation of these programs.
  • Collaboration and Partnerships: Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including senior leadership at Fraser Health, Faculty of Medicine, University of British Columbia, and Faculty of Health Sciences, Simon Fraser University, to enhance the Fraser Health Research Network and partnerships.
  • Research and Innovation: Drive understanding, identification, adoption, and spread of innovation as it relates to healthcare services and delivery, and support the creation of a new medical school in partnership with Simon Fraser University and First Nations Health Authority.
  • Medical Education: Support the creation of a new medical school and integrate medical education as a standard in primary care clinics and networks.
  • Research Governance: Ensure medical investigators adhere to established Fraser Health research guidelines and represent medical investigators and the Medical Research portfolio within Fraser Health.
Qualifications
  • Eligibility for membership on the Fraser Health Medical Staff.
  • Five (5) years leadership experience within the healthcare sector.
  • A master's degree in health administration, nursing, business administration or equivalent experience.
  • Additional leadership training.
  • Experience with budgetary and operational planning.

Time Commitment: 0.4 – 0.6 FTE
