- Conduct thorough assessments of clients, including reviewing their history, conducting physical and psychosocial assessments, and monitoring medical and psychiatric conditions.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate treatment plans in collaboration with clients and interdisciplinary teams.
- Provide psycho-education and life skills training to clients and their families.
- Facilitate individual and group treatment sessions, using cognitive, behavioral, and educational methods.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive care and communicate effectively with clients, families, and medical staff.
- Advocate for clients' rights and promote person-centered care.
- Graduation from an approved School of Nursing and current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse/RPN with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives.
- One year of recent related mental health experience in an acute, tertiary, or community setting.
- Knowledge of mental illness and substance use treatment, psychosocial rehabilitation, and crisis intervention.
- Counselling and group facilitation skills, as well as ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare teams.
