Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Patient Access Representative - Admitting to join our team at PeaceHealth. As a key member of our patient access team, you will play a critical role in ensuring seamless patient flow and efficient registration processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pre-register and register patients with accurate demographic and financial data, utilizing various methods depending on location.
  • Collect patient balances, co-payments, co-insurance, or other payment types, ensuring all insurance requirements are met.
  • Verify coverage and obtain prior authorization and/or referrals as necessary, prior to patient arrival.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and provide excellent customer service.
  • Assist with departmental coverage as needed and manage daily appointment schedules, including reminder calls and referrals.
  • Transport patients using escort or wheeled transport equipment, as required.
  • Manage ED incoming phone calls and provide switchboard coverage, as needed.
  • Monitor the OB Prosec/McKinley alarm system.
  • Assist with Cardiac Rehab departmental charge entry, as required.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 1 year of medical office or related customer service experience.
  • Preferred experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to manage conflict effectively and professionally.
  • Excellent time management skills, with an emphasis on meeting time-sensitive deadlines.
  • Good customer service skills and good interpersonal skills.
