Communications Manager – 6-8 Month Contract
Calgary or Toronto (Hybrid – 3 days in office)
Based in Calgary or Toronto and reporting to the Chief Marketing and Communications Officer, the Communications Manager has a passion for building a great brand through effective communication strategies. You will be responsible for managing Entuitive's client events, social media, public relations, sponsorships, and external communications, along with activities that further the strengthening of the Entuitive brand and culture.
Entuitive is home to a tightly knit team of passion-fueled engineers, designers, technologists, and city-building experts who deliver uncompromising performance across the asset lifecycle.
The Communications Manager will ensure all work is carried out in full support of our One Company culture and aligned to our core purpose – the fulfilment of our people, our clients, and our communities. This role provides leadership and direction to two direct reports.
What will you do?
- Research, write, and provide creative direction to produce communication materials including whitepapers, press releases, byline articles, presentations, and social posts.
- Actively build trade media relationships, pitch content, and identify suitable advertorial opportunities.
- Support the ongoing development of our firm-wide brand strategy and messaging segmented for key audiences.
- Oversee the delivery of internal employee communications efforts.
- Lead the identification and pursuit of speaking engagements for senior leaders.
- Manage sponsorship opportunities to showcase Entuitive leadership and build awareness in newer markets.
- Lead the pursuit of awards and recognition for firm-wide accomplishments.
- Work alongside the Business Development team to understand our client base and portfolio of projects, and action client intel to inform messaging across the client journey.
- Manage planning, promotion, execution, and reporting of regional events, with support from the extended Marketing & Communications and Business Development teams.
- Develop weekly media monitoring reports, key insights and competitive analysis.
- In collaboration with the Content Specialist and MarComm Specialist, develop, support and advance social media strategies, including editorial calendars content creation, as well as message and community engagement
- Stay on top of industry trends, company or customer stories, and breaking news to seize opportunities to strategically inject Entuitive into timely news articles and social discussions
Requirements
What do you need to succeed?
- Undergraduate or graduate education with 10+ years of communications and/or public relations experience
- Experience developing communications strategies and initiatives to create innovative programs for a variety of stakeholders
- Experience working in in Professional Services, preferably in architecture, design or engineering
- Entrepreneurial and disruptive in your ability to think about problems, challenge the status quo and a willingness to take calculated risks in order to support the brand and customer voice
- Software skills in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Demonstrated success conceiving and executing offline (via media, events, public relations and partnerships) and online (via social media marketing, blogs, etc.) campaigns to support competitive positioning
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Motivated, self-starter who is resourceful with proven problem-solving skills
- Experience working with and managing external vendors
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team of marketing and communications professionals
- Experience working in a multi office environment across several geographies, international experience would be considered an asset.
