About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Hydroelectric Design Engineer to join our team at ANDRITZ Hydro Canada. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for creating 3D models and 2D drawings from references, sketches, or instructions from engineers or senior designers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare 3D models and 2D drawings from references, sketches, or instructions from engineers or senior designers.
  • Create drawing-associated material lists.
  • Review drawings and material lists to ensure accuracy and compliance with customer specifications and internal design standards.
  • Ensure designs can be manufactured, are transportable, and operational. Propose design improvements to reduce costs and improve quality as needed.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities.
  • Enter data into the material resource planning system (SAP).
  • Perform drawings revisions.
  • Responsible for the execution time of your own work and participate in schedule updates.
  • Responsible for the quality and precision of your work.

Requirements:

  • College degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Good knowledge of heavy mechanical equipment, welded structures, methods of manufacturing, and machining as well as drafting rules and practices.
  • Strong background in 3D design.
  • Autonomous.
  • Teamwork skills.
  • Fluency in French and English.
  • Knowledge of Unigraphics NX8, Teamcenter, and SAP an asset.
  • Knowledge of hydro turbine (turbine and generator) an asset.
