Bilingual DC Pension Analyst

The successful candidate will work with the DC National Consulting team in delivering advisory services to the clients with Defined Contribution pension plans and other Capital Accumulation Plans (CAP). The team provides a range of advisory services including vendor searches, manager searches, member behaviour assessments, investment reviews, investment monitoring, plan reviews and governance assessments for both public and private sector clients.
The selected candidate will take direction and work with the team members to provide analytical support on all client deliverables, as well as help manage existing or new client relationships. Prior experience in consulting or exposure to DC or CAP products is desired. Strong communication skills, strong analytical skills, attention to detail, self-management and organization skills are required for anyone pursuing this role.
Responsibilities
- Liaise with internal colleagues and external service providers as needed to support client deliverables or obtain necessary information
- Support with all types of analysis related to services provided which include member behaviour assessments, vendor searches, investment fund lineup reviews, investment performance monitoring, manager searches, plan designs, benchmarking assessments, and governance assessments
- Review data, conduct analyses and prepare investment monitoring reports including relevant capital market or manager commentaries
- Support in the maintenance of proprietary databases and creation of database as directed
- Draft clear emails, client reports and other communications as needed
- Support on any national or internal initiatives as needed and participate in national team meetings
- Takes direction from, and supports DC Consulting team
- Support with client billings and tracking profit/loss metrics
- Attend internal training sessions to build knowledge of industry topics and trends
- Assist with special projects, as required
- University degree in (Finance, Business Administration, Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science)
- Prior knowledge of CAP or DC plans, investments, applicable legislation and best practices is an asset
- Bilingual French and English
- Relevant experience with DC pension plans or savings arrangements is desired
- A keen desire to pursue or is working towards the CFA designation is a plus.
- Appetite for learning and professional development to expand skills
- Must be able to work independently or with minimal supervision but be a team player and take direction from the senior team
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, along with a strong professional acumen and the desire to take the initiative in helping clients find solutions.
- Exceptional time management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple competing assignments
- Dedicated team player with strong work ethic, who demonstrates initiative and independence
- An excellent understanding of software, particularly MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
