Job Summary: Magna Exteriors is seeking a skilled press operator to join their team in Vaughan, VA. The ideal candidate will have experience with press controls, tooling protection, and die setup.

The Magna Exteriors portfolio of products includes access systems, exterior trim, modular systems, and other lightweight structural components for automotive, commercial truck, and industrial markets. As a recognized innovator in vehicle exteriors, Magna provides everything needed to help automakers create sleek, state-of-the-art vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate presses for manual and progressive dies
  • Set up and maintain tooling for presses
  • Inspect press and tooling at the beginning of the shift
  • Communicate issues and problems to area leader
  • Order and maintain necessary equipment and parts
  • Coordinate with other departments, including maintenance and toolroom
  • Operate 10 to 40 ton cranes with sling or chain
  • Set counter balance air according to tool weight
  • Load coils on uncoilers and prepare for use
  • Input production data into the system and follow required schedule
  • Complete a Forklift Safety checklist
  • Organize and clean up before and after set-up
  • Follow WHMIS/GHS and maintain 5S standards
  • Attend training based on Mytox's internal training matrix
  • Perform other duties as assigned or requested by management
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Automotive manufacturing experience
  • Ability to follow written set-up instructions and fill out proper set-up papers
