Job Title: Press Set-Up Operator

Job Summary:

Magna Exteriors is seeking a skilled Press Set-Up Operator to join our team. As a Press Set-Up Operator, you will be responsible for setting up and operating presses for both manual and progressive dies, ensuring high-quality production and meeting customer demands.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate presses for manual and progressive dies
  • Ensure high-quality production and meet customer demands
  • Coordinate with other departments, including maintenance and toolroom
  • Maintain operation of two simultaneously running presses
  • Communicate with area leader and maintenance concerning any problems or requirements affecting operation
  • Operate safely 10 to 40 ton cranes with appropriate sling or chain
  • Set counter balance air according to tool weight
  • Experience in tooling set-up with roll feeders and die protection
  • Load coils on uncoilers, preparation for use, and start strip through die
  • Input production data into the system and follow required schedule
  • Complete a Forklift Safety checklist
  • Maintain 5S standards in working environment
  • Attend training based on Mytox's internal training matrix

Requirements:

  • High school diploma and/or a post-secondary education in a technical field
  • Valid Forklift license (training will be provided and maintained if required)
  • Valid Crane license (training will be provided and maintained if required)
  • Knowledge of First and Last Off Procedure
  • Knowledge of loading, unloading, and storing of tooling equipment in appropriate safety area
  • Knowledge to set all tooling for all presses
  • Knowledge of operating presses for both manual and progressive dies
  • Knowledge of all Inspection Records, SPC Charts, and checking fixtures
  • Knowledge of measuring equipment, such as micrometer and vernier, and caliper
  • Good English (both written and verbal) communication skills
  • Strong Mathematical skills

Desirable Additional Qualifications:

  • Ability to follow written set-up instructions and fill out proper set-up papers/maintain tool work order
  • Automotive manufacturing experience
