About the Role

Aecon is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as an Immigration and Mobility Coordinator. This is a full-time, permanent position that will play a critical role in supporting the company's global workforce and ensuring compliance with immigration laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert advice on US and international immigration laws and regulations to ensure compliance and minimize risk.
  • Develop and implement effective relocation strategies to support the movement of employees and their families across borders.
  • Manage the processing of work permits, visas, and other immigration-related documents.
  • Collaborate with HR, payroll, and operations teams to ensure seamless integration of new employees and their families into the company's global workforce.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, immigration lawyers, and relocation service providers.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and best practices in immigration and mobility, and provide strategic input into the development of the company's global mobility programs.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary education in a field related to personnel management, such as business administration, industrial relations, or commerce.
  • 2-3 years of experience working in immigration, mobility, or human resources.
  • Strong understanding of Canadian and US immigration laws and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information and work with sensitive data.
