Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse/registered Psychiatric Nurse to join our team at the Hospice Residence. As a member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide direct nursing care to patients, assessing their physical, emotional, spiritual, and psychosocial needs, and developing and implementing individualized care plans.

Responsibilities
  1. Assess patients' needs and develop care plans, implementing and evaluating interventions as needed.
  2. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care.
  3. Act as an advocate for patients' rights and dignity, promoting autonomy and respect.
  4. Document patient observations, teaching, and care evaluations in a timely and accurate manner.
  5. Participate in quality improvement activities, identifying areas for improvement and contributing to data collection and analysis.
  6. Maintain a safe environment for patients, families, and staff, adhering to established safety and emergency procedures.
Qualifications

Graduation from an approved School of Nursing and/or Psychiatric Nursing, with two years' recent experience in medical nursing, including one year in a hospice/palliative care environment. Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse and/or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
