**Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Job Description** A Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is required to provide professional practical nursing services to designated patients in a clinical setting.

Under the general supervision of the Manager of Patient Care, the LPN is responsible for providing independent nursing services, administering prescribed medical treatments, collaborating with the healthcare team, and participating in the coordination of patient care and discharge.

The LPN will work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, providing care to patients with a variety of needs. The ideal candidate will have strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize care and delegate tasks as needed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide professional practical nursing services to designated patients
  • Administer prescribed medical treatments
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team
  • Participate in the coordination of patient care and discharge
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an approved Licensed Practical Nursing Education program
  • Certification in IV Therapy and IV Medication Administration
  • Active registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Manitoba (CLPNM)
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Training
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Recent experience in the applicable clinical area
  • Knowledge of the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Manitoba Standards of Practice for Licensed Practical Nurses
  • Knowledge of the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Manitoba Code of Ethics for Licensed Practical Nurses
Physical Requirements:
  • Moderate to heavy physical effort required
  • Rotating shifts and weekends may be required

This is a term position that may end earlier as outlined in the collective agreement. The successful candidate will be required to undergo a satisfactory Criminal Records Check, Child Abuse Registry Check, and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment.
