Senior Policy Advisor Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Policy Advisor to join our team at the Ministry of Health. As a key member of our policy team, you will play a critical role in shaping public policy and driving impactful change.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide policy leadership and expertise across the Ministry to support the development and approval of provincial policies and related programs.
  • Meet division and ministry goals and objectives, and respond to a range of related issues.
  • Coordinate assigned projects involving the development, implementation, dissemination, and evaluation of public health system performance frameworks to improve procedures and practices.
  • Build and maintain relationships with program partners and stakeholders.
  • Promote the division's and ministry's strategic directions and inform ministry policy and operational initiatives.
Requirements
  • You have a strong understanding of policy and program development principles and techniques, as well as government decision-making processes.
  • You can interpret and apply policy, procedures, and legislation.
  • You possess expertise in creating and managing complex partner relationships, and can work collaboratively to resolve issues, negotiate changes, and shifts in priorities.
  • You demonstrate sound judgment, sensitivity, and a high degree of political acuity, and can assess the effectiveness of policies and programs against Ministry initiatives and goals.
  • You have project management skills, including leading projects from initial concept through completion within specific timelines.
  • You can respond to issues, provide recommendations, and prepare reports using standard computer software, and can create, lead, and present briefings on complex issues analysis to senior management.
