The Physician and Provider Services Division, Assistant Deputy Minister's Office, is responsible for overseeing the relationship management with healthcare service providers and physician payment policy. As a Senior Policy Advisor, you will play a key role in shaping public policy and driving impactful change.

You will lead the development of provincial policies and programs, providing advice and support to achieve ministry goals and address key issues. Your knowledge and experience will be crucial in guiding our teams towards the achievement of our business goals.

The division provides oversight and relationship management with representatives for healthcare service providers, including the Ontario Medical Association, the Association of Ontario Midwives, and the Ontario Dental Association. You will work collaboratively to resolve issues, negotiate changes, and shifts in priorities.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Provide policy leadership and expertise across the Ministry to support development and approval of provincial policies and related programs.
  • Meet division and ministry goals and objectives and respond to a range of related issues.
  • Coordinate assigned projects involving the development, implementation, dissemination, and evaluation of public health system performance framework.
  • Build and maintain relationships with program partners and stakeholders.
  • Promote the division's and ministry's strategic directions and inform ministry policy and operational initiatives.

**Requirements:**

  • Policy and program development principles and techniques, and government decision-making processes.
  • Interpret and apply policy, procedures, and legislation.
  • Relationship management and facilitation skills, including creating and managing complex partner relationships.
  • Judgement, evaluation, and analytical skills, including assessing the effectiveness of policies and programs.
  • Project management skills, including leading projects from initial concept through completion within specific timelines.
  • Communication skills, including responding to issues, providing recommendations, and preparing reports.
